The Enterprise Europe Network is a key instrument in the EU's strategy to boost growth and jobs. Bringing together close to 600 business support organisations from 49 countries, we help small companies seize the unparalleled business opportunities in the EU Single Market.

Our member organisations include chambers of commerce and industry, technology centres, research institutes and development agencies. Most of them have been supporting local businesses for a long time. They know their clients' strengths and needs - and they know Europe.

As members of the Enterprise Europe Network they are linked up through powerful databases, sharing their knowledge and sourcing technologies and business partners across all Network countries. But they are also closely linked with the European Commission, which enables them to keep abreast of EU policies and to feed small companies' views on them back to Brussels.

TuTech Innovation GmbH is one partner of the EEN Hamburg – Schleswig-Holstein.

EURIFT is an independent internet based information portal, supported by TuTech Innovation GmbH (TuTech), providing comprehensive information on Intermodal Freight Transport. As the European intermodal transport scene is dispersed over Europe, the single point of access to information about intermodal transport makes the EURIFT portal a valuable tool for professional users from industry, research, politics, administrations and training.

eurift. eu offers company profiles, best practice examples, legislation, news and events.

The information and documentation database currently contains more than 6900 commented entries and is extended and updated every day. The entries are added by an editorial team with transport background.

As a neutral platform, EURIFT is not aligned with any political party or interest group and thus offers the viewpoints of all players in the European Intermodal Transport Sector.

Main Goal is to create new technologies for the production of  “tailor made” multifunctional nanostructured materials and formulations for applications in the field of  “life sciences”: cosmetics, pharmacy, food industry, agriculture, insulation materials and textiles.

Special attention is given to the functionalization of the existing materials and further development of the encapsulation techniques to get the “tailor made” formulations with the desired release of active compounds for each specific target. To achieve this goal, both partner universities work together with industrial partners from both countries (in the first stage Evonik Degussa GmbH).

Partners are:

  • Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Institute for Thermal Separation Processes
  • D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of RUSSIA (MUCTR), Computer Aided Process Engineering
  • TuTech Innovation GmbH, Hamburg
  • and as Associated Member: Evonik Degussa GmbH, Essen

HEKATE

Logo_Hekate.png

HEKATE built a new Knowledge Alliance between universities and business. Three partners from industry, two universities and a knowledge transfer institution formed a partnership which created an entrepreneurship training.

HEKATE has built a platform which aims to encourage more structured, result-driven cooperation ventures between universities and companies, bridging the gap between the sectors. The platform is hosted by EIRMA and offers senior R&D managers the opportunity to contribute to future Knowledge Alliances.

HEKATE run from 1st October 2013 to 31 December 2015. The project was funded with support from the European Commission and based on the European framework of the University–Business Cooperation initiative.

KLIMZUG-NORD

Rising floods in the river Elbe, additional parasites affecting the local agriculture, as well as more frequent flooding of houses due to intensified rainfalls: More and more frequently these potential disasters take place simultaneously. The project KLIMZUG-NORD is exploring solutions to cope with the consequences of climate changes in the metropolitan area of Hamburg.

Partners of KLIMZUG-NORD are going to research the consequences of climate changes to urban areas, agricultural sites and the tidal riverbed of the Elbe within the city of Hamburg. Taking into account research data, environmental planning, city law, and economic plans, a range of action plans are going to be recommended. The target entails a coordinated action plan for the city regions, including a master plan which reaches to the year 2050.

Partners of KLIMZUG-NORD include 6 universities, 6 research centers, 10 offices related to city affairs, and 11 companies. Other partners have joined the project. Along with these, there are 8 neighbouring counties of Niedersachsen (Lower-Saxony) and 6 of Schleswig-Holstein who are supporting this project.

The plan is to extend the project KLIMZUG-NORD over a period of five years with a budget of around €25m, including a substantial support of €15m by the central government. Participants are largely supplying their own funds and an additional €1.2m will be contributed by the city of Hamburg.

LifeLongJointsLifeLongJoints aims to deliver next-generation, functional Silicon Nitride coatings for articulating surfaces and interfaces of total hip replacements (THR) to produce longer lasting implants.

The programme of research will produce a biocompatible, low-wearing silicon nitride coating, functionally tested utilising cutting edge techniques with a view to preparing the necessary regulatory information, as appropriate.

Funded under the EU’s Framework 7 research theme “Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies” (FP7-NMP), the project unites 14 research institutes and industry partners in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK and is coordinated by the University of Leeds.
